Hi Jaime I couldn't find anyway to enter anything except to comment on your entry. Also on my PC some of the words are really hard to see...might be my settings or something???
Hi guys Great background Jaime...thanks. How do we make it so we can all enter posts rather than just comment? Don said in his blog he had to "allow Permissions". Chad I think you are correct - we should be blogging something..but I am not sure what exactly??
Hello! When I set up the blog, I was able to "invite" you to be authors by adding your email addresses. It says that Valerie accepted, but it doesn't look like Chad or Claire got the invite. I resent invites to you just now. I think if you click accept (or whatever it says), you become a contributor (listed to the right of the blog). Let me know if you don't get the invite, and maybe we can ask for help if needed.
Somewhere in webtycho he posted some suggestions. Do we want to pick one to focus on this week?
I think blogging would be very benefitial in a math classroom. As a math resource teacher I see that many students and teachers have trouble expressing how math is used in the real world. In a math blog students could blog weekly on how the skills that they learned during the week would relate into real world applications. Teachers could also use the blog to give a real world problems or situations, students could then blog about how they would solve the problem and what math skills would be needed. In my state (MD) students need to be able to express there thinking using BCR's. Many students do not like answering these BCR's because teachers tend to focus on the writing aspect of it and students tend to loose interest. However, having students express there thinking in blogs for others to read would give these students the practice of expressing their ideas in a setting that is not the normal paper and pencil format
Hi Chad! Good post, but you may want to put it as its own subject instead of a comment under this topic to make sure that you get credit for posting. I think you just click "new post" in the top right-hand corner.

Hey Valerie, Claire and Jaime.
ReplyDeleteThanks for setting up the blog. We might need to work on the colors since it is hard to read the side options.
How's this background? Not very "techy" but it's easy to read and goes with the season :)
ReplyDeleteThis background is very easy to read, much better for my old eyes
ReplyDeleteI really like the background. Did I sign in correctly as a follower?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what being a "follower" does... I'll look into it. Glad the background works better.
ReplyDeleteWhat topic are we starting with?
Are we supposed to be posting this week?
ReplyDeleteValerie
I am not sure if we are supposed to post or not. I think we are.
