Well, I have struggled this week with Dreamweaver...what horrible software that is - incredibly user unfriendly. I found my errors were due to a space in the page title...where does it tell you not to do that?
Anyway, maybe I thought, this is where blogs are helpful because there may be a Dreamweaver users blog somewhere that could have helped me. I think someone should collate software users blogs in a giant anthology of software user blogs.
If there was such a thing we could go there to find out if someone has previously blazed a trail through the mire.
Claire,
ReplyDeleteI also struggle using Dreamweaver! I am happy you found out how to solve your problem, I am still looking for a solution for mine. I have found some Dreamweaver assister on the Adobe website, but I agree a collection of blogs on software such as dreamweaver would be very helpful

Claire and Valerie,
ReplyDeleteI had to use Dreamweaver this summer for one of my classes. I to had trouble and hated it, I could not get the links to work when I uploaded it to the server. I searched for blogs and websites to give help, but had no luck. Luckly I was able to figure it out through trial and error, and I ended up getting very good at using it.
I agree with all of you! It's very complicated, and personally, i don't understand why we have to use it when there are plenty of free and user-friendly options for creating websites out there on the web already. I also looked for help online, and did find answers to most of my questions. I should have bookmarked the blogs and sites, but didn't think of it. If I come across them again, I'll post them for you.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice not to feel alone! I'll keep muddling through.
ReplyDeleteFireworks seems to be much more user friendly than Dreamweaver. I even purchased Dreamweaver for Dummies, BUT, I don't know what this says about me, but that book was way too complicated for me to get any benefit from it!! LOL
